Several discourse communities exist in Psychology. The most significant community of people in Psychology is the APA (The American Psychological Association). The American Psychological Association strives to, “advance the creation, communication and application of psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve people’s lives” (apa.org). The APA is a key discourse community that provides publications, databases, etc. , which are all available to the general public.
